The Sisters

I’ve been writing a story in my read, write or draw time in school after morning break.  My story is called The Sisters.  This is what I’ve writen so far…

“Stop it,” Grace yelled as her older sister snatched her faviorite pencil out of her hands.  “Give it back!”  “Girls stop fighting” called their mother from the kitchen.  “Thea stole my pencil and shes not giving it back.” “Diners ready,” came her mothers reply.  Immeditly Thea dropped the pencil she was holding and Grace quickly bent down picked it up and hugged it, then putting it away in her draw ran to the table.  “Don’t run Grace” called her mother.

After dinner the girls ran out into the backyard to play.  After they had been out there for 1 hour their Mother (who’s name was Kristen ) called them in to get into their nighties and go to bed.  “I wish I didn’t have to go to bed” Grace said to Thea.  “Me too” Thea replyed.

When both of them were in bed Grace suddenly got up and walked down the hall into Theas room.  When Grace knew that Thea was awake she wispered, “I can’t sleep.”  “I can’t sleep ethier” Thea wispered back.  ” I’m gonna go down stairs for a bit and read there.”  ” I’ll come too.”

The girls quietly went down stairs into the living room.  In the living room there were 2 sofa’s one bigger than the other.  There was also a bookshelf and a small table in the middle.  On the walls there were 2 peices of art work the girls had done when the were younger and a clock.  Thea lighted a candle and put it on the small table in the mmiddle of the room.  Next Thea and Grace found a book and started to read it.  Grace looked up at the clock, it was 1:35.  10 minutes later she looked up at the clock again and it said it was still 1:35.  “Thea,” “yes,”  “it’s still 1:3o” “Huh, the time must have stopped, I’ll go and check my clock.”  Thea came back and said.  “My clock has stopped working, and Mothers and Farthers clock has stopped working aswell.”

Just then everything started to swirl around like a tornado.  Soon it became a toranado.  “What’s happening!” yelled Grace.  “I don’t know,”replied Thea.  After awhile the tornado stopped and they found they found that they were not in there home anmore.  They were in the future.

That’s all I’ve done so far.

What do you think will happen next?

Have you ever wrote a story before about going foward or backwards in time?

My Dream Day

My dream day would start in Auckland, I would wake up from sleeping in a first class room in the fanciest, most, exspensive hotel in Auckland, then get up and get changed.  Next I would wake up my best friends that came with me and we would, go down to the food place and get pancakes, bagles and a waffel.  Then we would hop in a taxi, and it would drive us to Rainbows End.  Once we got to Rainbows End we would hop out and walk into Rainbows End.  We wouldn’t have to pay because we would have a free pass.  First we would get into the rollercaoaster and we wouldn’t have to wait in line because we would have a free pass for all the rides.  We would do that 2 times then we would go to one of the other rides.  After that ride we would go and get some food from one of the stalls.  I would get a icecream sunday and a coke.  We wouldn’t have to pay because we had another free pass.  After we had finneshed our food and drinks we would go on the bumper cars that are in the water.  After that we would go into the lazy river.  Then we would dry off and go back to the hotel.  For dinner we would have fish and chips.  Then we would go back to our room and sleep.     What would your drem day look like?

100 Years In The Past Or 100 In The Future

Today my class did a quick write called  Would You Rather Live 100 Years In The Future Or 100 Years In The Past? Here is what I wrote…

I would rather live 100 years in the past rather then 100 years in the future because it would be amazing to know what it was like in the olden days, (not just from books).  It would be an amazing experience.  It would be awesome and amazing to compare it to what we do and have now, like school, what we wear, what jobs woman can have, technology, etc.  If  I had children I would have to stay home and do all the house work and cooking.  I think I wouldn’t have a job because I don’t think woman did much jobs back then because they weren’t allowed to.  I think it would be really fun to live in the past in the olden days.

Would you rather live in the past or in the future?

Rocky Mountain

Yesterday and today we had to write about our school holiday.  We could do bit’s of our holiday or the whole holiday.  I decided to do one bit of my holiday.  Here is what I   did…

                                                     Rocky Mountain

My family and I went up Mount Gray.  It was really windy at the top, there was an awesome view, and we had a milo.  It was super fun and we got 5 dollars at the end.  I loved climbing Mount Grey!

It was a sunny Friday afternoon as  Micah, Joel, Mum, Aunty Joli, Uncle Steven, my cousin Emma and I drove down to the bottom of Mount Grey (I think it was called Mount Grey,) to walk to the top of it.  Once we got out of the car and Mum had her backpack on with the things inside it we all started the walk up the mountain.  At first the track was quite wide with a few bits of gorse on it here and there, but after we had been walking for around 5 minutes the track got a lot skinnier.  After a while pine trees started to cover us from the sun and pine tree leaves started to cover the rocky dirt floor we had been walking on.  Micah, Joel, Emma and I were in front of Aunty Joli, Uncle Steven and Mum by a heap, so we decided to stop and wait for them to catch up.

Once they catched up we kept on walking through the forest on the mountain.  “I’m bored,” said Joel with a bored tone in his voice.  “Well, how about we play a game,” replied Emma.  “What game,” asked Joel and I.  “Um, how about…

After we had been walking for around an hour Emma pointed out “look, see that tower?”  we nodded, “that’s the lookout.”

After about 5 minutes we reached the lookout and stopped to wait for Mum, Uncle Steven and Aunty Joli.  Once they reached there they had a little break then we all kept on walking up the mountain.  “About 10 – 15 minutes before we reach the very top now,” Emma said. It started to get very windy about 5 minutes after we left the lookout, and I knew we were almost there.  When we reached the top we waited for about 1 minute before the others came.  We sat down and Mum pulled out a puffer jacket for me to wear because it was so windy.  She also pulled 2 out for Micah and Joel.

Aunty Joli pulled her backpack off her back and poured us some milo she had made back at the house.  “This warms me up SO much” we all said or thought.  After we had finished our milo we put the cups back in the bag.  Mum took a few photos, then we started our walk back down the mountain.  I loved it!

                                                          Conclusion

My family and I walked up Mount Grey and stopped at the lookout.  Then we kept on going up to the very top.  It was very, very windy at the top.  There was an awesome view as well, and we had a milo, the milo warmed me up heaps.  I loved climbing Mount Gray!

Inside/Outside Poems

Last week we made poems on how we felt doing something or how we think we would feel.  I based mine off Swimming Sports which I had done.  This is my poem…

Swimming Races

Inside, my tummy feels queasy,

Inside, I can feel my heart pounding,

Inside, I wonder if I can really do it,

Inside, I remind myself “I can do this.”

Outside, people are clapping and cheering,

Outside, I can hear kids and parents laughing and chatting,

Outside, I can see Mum and Bella waving to me from the other side of the pool,

Outside, some kids are pulling out their lunches to grab something to eat.

Inside, butterflies fly around in my tummy,

Inside, I realise that I haven’t trained,

Inside, I feel excitement rising in me.

After we had finneshed writing our poems we made them into a picture.  The picture has a picture of us and our poem writen over top of it.  We made the words that were important to us bigger then the ones that weren’t so important.

Going To Districts

Yesterday (the 9th April 2024) 22 or 23 kids in our school went to districts at the High School for athletics.  I was doing a 60 meter run, a 80 meter run, high jump and long jump.  We went in cars to the high school and when we got there we had to line up in our year groups.  There was St Mary’s, Hokitika primary and Kokatahi school there as well.  The first thing that I did was High jump, I think I came 4th or 5th in that.  Next I did long jump, then 60 meter run and 80 meter run.  I don’t know what I came in those.  I reallly enjoyed it, and I think I will go there again next time and hopefully West Coast as well.

Have you gone to district athletics before?

If you have did you enjoy it?

Bullets Fly Soldiers Die

When we have Mr A we learn about World War 1 in Gallipoli.  I like learning about World War 1 because I think that it’s a really cool part of our history.  At the moment we have been pretending that we are a nurse or a soldier, and are writing letters to our parents.  I have learnt that the Kiwi’s knew that they were going to be destroyed so they made it look like they were still fighting, and all the soldiers got into the boat.  I also learnt that they went to Eygept for some months and then went to Gallipoli.  Another thing that I learnt was that all the men were excited to go to war and they didn’t know what was going to happen.  But the nurse knew that they would be needed and knew that they were gonig to put men back together.

In The Weekend – In The Mountain Biking Tracks

I was bumping up and down in the car as Dad drove Me, Micah and Bella up to the mountain biking tracks.  Mum and Joel were at home.  We pulled to a stop and we got out of of the car while Dad got the bikes off the back of the car. Once all the bikes were down Micah got onto his bike.  Then Dad got onto his bike, and hauled Bella onto the front seat of his bike.  And I got onto my bike.

We biked down the hill to the track that we were going to bike down.  Micah went first then Me, then Dad and Bella.  I had to stop once at one corner then tried to stop at the next but it was too late.  I skied, then my bike fell on one side so I couldn’t get out.  Dad was behind me and he slid to a stop, then pulled up my bike and asked if I was OK.  I was fine except for my knee which was bleeding a little.  I  hopped back on my bike and biked to the end of the track.  After we did that one we biked to a  much harder track and did that one.  I had to stop heaps on that one, and had another 2 crashes.  After we finished that one we went back onto the one, that we had done before and it was way easier the second time.  We biked back up to the car and Dad put the bikes back on the back of the car.  Then we drove home.  The End

Animals Escape From The Zoo!!!

Yesterday we did another Quick – Write.  This is what I wrote…

You work at the zoo and the elephants have broken loose! What will you do?

I would find all the other people who work there and the boss and tell them what has happened.  Then I will call the police and tell them what happened as well.  Next when the police come I will tell them which way I saw some of the animals go.  I will try to find some of them with help from the police, and I will go round asking everyone I see if they have seen the animals that ran away from the zoo anywhere.  I would also make sure no one was hurt by any of the animals.  And if they were badly hurt I would ring the ambulance if no one else had all ready ringed the ambulance.

What would you write if you had to do something about animals escaping from a zoo?

Whats your favourite animal?
