Writing A Play/Story

A few weeks ago we wrote a play about a fairytale we all know, but we had to change the point of veiw.  For example Beauty and the Beast.  Change it from Bells perspective to the Beasts.  We had to pair up with a buddy or do it with two other people.  I paired up with a buddy.  We chose to do Billy Goat Gruff.  We have started to write it but I think everyone still has to finnish a bit of their writing though.  It’s fun writing plays and seeing each others ideas.  Here is the start of our story.

Cybersmart Challange

Today we did a cybersmart challange.  We had to pair up with a buddy (someone that we don’t normally work with) and one of us had to share the cybersmart challange with our buddy.  The purpose of the challange was to respect other peoples ideas on line.  We had to play tick tack toe with them on our computer then write a story with them.  To make the story we decided who would start then the person that starts writes a word, then the next person would write a word.  For example the person that could write once  then the next person could write upon.  You keep on going till you finesh the story.

Daffodil Day

Next Friday it’s daffodil day and our class are making daffodils to display.  You have to have a square piece of paper and fold it into a triangle then fold it into a smaller triangle.  Next cut three cuts in the triangle on the thick side.  Next unfold it and cellotape or glue it together. Then flip it over and cellotape those together, then flip it over again and do it.  Next flip it over again and cellotape it.  Make six of them and staple them together.  Then cellotape the petals.

Poetry

This week we have been working on poertry called diamante.  We chosse opposites then wrote 1 Noun, 2 adjectives and 5 verbs.  My opposites were Winter and Summer.  Have you ever made a diamante poem before?

Ciquans

This week we have been making poems.  The type of poem is a called ciquan.  I made mine about cats because cats are really cool animals and I love them.  I found it a bit challenging because there were a lot of things cats can do and I found it hard to chose just a few things. Have you ever made a ciquan poem before?

Facts about Cheetahs

In the last week our class has been making facts about anything we like.  I chose to do my facts about Cheetahs – the animal.  Here are some facts…                                                                                                        Cheetahs are yellowish brownish with a lot of spots on them.  Around 2000 black spots.  They have wiskers and pointy ears like cats [also because they are a type of cat].  They are the fastest land animal in the world, 64 miles per hour in 3 seconds is how fast a cheetah can run. There babies are called cubs. The avrage amount of cubs that a cheetah can have at a time is 2 – 8 cubs.  The oldest cat on earth is a cheetah.  Cheetahs don’t roar they make other sounds as purring and meowing.   Cheetahs eat small antalope. Have you ever wrote facts about an animal?

Day Off/ Teachers Strike

On Thursday the teachers went on strike, so we got a day off.  Me, Mum and my siblings went to the Kiwi centre and a place to get some dirt for our lawn, the book shop and Stumpers in Hokitika.  Once Mum had attached the trailer to the car, we got into the car and  went to the place get dirt.  Then we went into town.  We went to the Kiwi centre first and saw 2 kiwi’s there, and lot’s of diffrent kind’s of fish.  We also caught 7 crayfish and soon put them back into the pond there.  Next we went to the book shop and Joel my brother brought a toy plane.  Then we went to Stumpers and got some hot chip’s and fluffy’s.  After we had finished our fluffy’s and hot chip’s we went home.  Do you go out often?
