On Monday the 12th May, the year 4, 5 and 6 from our school went to Kokatahi school for cross country. We went on the buses there from our school. Once we got there we went inside the class room and put our bags down. There was Ross School and Kumara School there as well. After we had put our bags in the classroom we sat on the steps by the deck. The princable of Kokatahi school told us what the rules are and what year group was going first. Next we went inside the classroom to wait for our turn to run. The year 6 were going first, then the year 3, year 5, year 2, year 4, year 1. I was a year 5 so I went 3rd.
Once the year 6 and the year 3 had gone, we lined up at the starting line. Bang! The wooden things had been claped togther. We took off. I was around 5th at that point. We had to do 2 laps of the course. I came in 2nd for the girls. After that we got a sausge and then we got changed out of our running gear. Next we got to go on our computers. Soon Mum came in and told me it was time for us to go to Christchurch. I got into go to the Districs for cross country! Its on Tuesday next week. I’m a bit nervouse but also really excited.
