Swimming Sports

On Thursday 23th Feburay we went to the Hokitika pool.  All the seniors went there because we have to do swimming sports.  In the last couple of weeks everyone including the junoirs all had to do swimming lessons with adults there in groups.  We have had to go there once a week on a bus because we had to to get ready for swimming sports.  On Thursday 23rd February all the seniors went on a bus to the Hokitika pool.  I was very nervouse!  There were about 5 groups that got called before me.  Then it was my turn.  I got 3rd in that race.  Then there were another 6 or 7 groups called before my next one.  Then I got called out agian for my next race.  I came 2nd in that race!  After thosse races I felt alot more relaxed.

Maths Magic dice trick 2023

This week we have been learning math tricks.  We learnt two tricks one is a card trick and the other is a dice trick.  The dice trick is like this…                                                                                                                    First you will need two dice.  On the two dice you will see that each opasit side/faces each add up to seven.  [ 4 and 3 add to up 7. 1 and 6 add up to 7.  2 and 5 add up to 7.]    So you roll the two dice and then push them together.  Next you look around the dice.  Then you will open up the dice and guess what the number is.

2023 Back to School

I had an epic Christmas holiday!  My family went to my Nana and Grandads house for christmas.  It was awesome!  Next we went to Kaitteriteri with my cusions.  It was great!  Now were back at school.  This year I am a year 4.  I am a senior!  It has been really fun being in a diffrent class for the couple of days.  We have been doing some swimming lessones at the Hokitika swimming pool.  It’s fun!  being in a diffrent class!

Pet Day Project

The school has been making pet projects over the last few weeks.  We have had to make our pet project on either our computer or on paper.  First we wrote our ideas on the white board.  Next we started our pet project.  We had to write the things on the board on our piece of paper or on our chrome book.  Then we went over it in vivid.  Next we coloured it in and drew some pictures.  What pet do you have?

 

 

One Is a Snail Ten Is a Crab

A few days ago Ruma Tui listened to the book: 1 is a snail and 10 is a crab.  After we had listened to the book, we went to our desks and drew some of the animals in our books.  The legs on all the animals had to add up to 33.  It was really  fun drawing all the animals!  Maybe you could draw some animals as well, that add up to number.

 

Origami Boxes

Over last few days Ruma Tui has been making origami boxes.  First we watch a video of how to make them.  Then we went to our desk and started to make them.  First we cut it into a square, by folding it into a triangle.  Then we undid the triangle so it looked like a square.  Next we folded it in half both ways, then we folded all the corners into the middle.  Then we folded the sides into the middle.  Next we had to undo the sides.  Then we had to undo those two sides again.  Then you have to put your two fingers on a line and you have to push it together.  Next you have to do it on the other side as well.  then you have made an origami box!  What colour would you choose and how would you explain it?     I hope you enjoy it!!

Blue Colour Poem

The last few weeks Ruma Tui has been making a video on Canva.  The first step was to write our plan for our colour poem.  Then we went on to Canva and made our colour poem.  Soon we put music in our video.  Here is my colour poem. What colour would you choose?
